The crowd is a blur. Racing against the clock, all that matters is winning. Billy wishes he could pay attention to the support his fans give him - the miles and miles of fans crowded along the streets - but he can't. Every time he mounts his bike, the world around him becomes a total blur - it is just him, his bike, and the road...and his competitors. He knows he has the strength to be champion - steadily he makes it past the eighth, seventh, sixth place bicyclists. With ten miles left to go, he knows he can be the champion. Solely, one by one, he passes another bicyclist.
